Bio

I am a professional graphic/web designer and photographer, living in Virginia. I recently joined HMU, LLC d/b/a Open Plan Systems, as Marketing Manager. I am involved in a variety of projects, and am enjoying taking on many new challenges in design and photography, as well as editing digital video.

Background Info:

In 2005, I joined a company called SWIFT, located in Culpeper, Virginia, as an Associate Systems & Network Controller.* I was soon promoted to Controller and remained in the department for four years. I joined the Human Resources team in 2009, as Associate HR Generalist. (aka Recruiter)

After working with various colleagues on projects in technical writing and continuing to do freelance work, I decided that I needed more formal training if design was something I wanted to pursue full-time. In 2008, I began working towards achieving a Certification in Print & Web Design through Sessions School of Art and Design. (Completed September 2010)

*Systems & Network Controller = Monitoring computer software and hardware in a mission-critical 24/7 operational center. (Very similar to NASA's control room in concept)
